CAA Proceedings is only open to submissions that have been presented at a CAA International conference and been through the process outlined below.
Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.
Submission process
Please visit the proceedings page of the CAA conference you are submitting your article from. This outline will be provided there with specifics for that year's proceedings, but is given as a general guide here.
- Submit your paper to an online repository as a preprint (e.g. Zenodo, there is usually a community set up for that year), and obtain a DOI.
- Submit your paper to PCI Archaeology (instructions here) and include the chair(s) of your session from the CAA conference as recommenders.
- Once your paper has been publicly recommended in PCI archaeology (meaning it has been peer-reviewed) you may submit it to the CAA Proceedings.
- If you choose to submit your PCI-recommended article to CAA Proceedings, please format it; the article will go through a copy-edit process and then will be entered into the CAA Proceedings Template prior to submission, as it will not be accepted otherwise.
- Once this is done, the article will go through a copyedit process and then be published in the issue for the corresponding conference.
- Minor edits or additional reviews may be requested by the editors prior to publication.
- Once this is done, the article will go through a copyedit process and then be published in the issue for the corresponding conference.
Template
Please make sure your submission is formatted into the template for that conference's proceedings.
